So I have this bike with some fatty 24x3.0 tires on it, and want to put some on another bike... Do I need any special 24 inch rims or will whatever i have/can get work? If I need special ones, where do I go? Where is a good source for fatt tires? What kind of worries do I have if I'm trying to run 26x3.0 tires? Has anyone ehre ever put them on one of the dyno stretch frames like this?

Maybe I'll have to stick with 24's... I dunno. Hopefully someone does...

The tires should fit on most 24" rims...except older Schwinn stuff of course.

The Electra tires aren't hard to fit.

Of Course... Wait. Why wouldn't they? Is 24 inches different in the world of schwinn?

Schwinn tires and rims are different than regular tires and rims. ex: a Schwinn s7 rim that takes a 24 x 1 3/4 tire won't take a 24 x 1.75 tire. Will not fit. I believe that this is because the bead is different on the tire, as is the shape of the rim itself...

I see. New guy here... Never screwed around with schwinns much... Schwinns to me are like the '57 Chevy of the bike world: They're cool, but everyone and their grandpa has/has had one, and they seem to be a little over-priced... But that's just my opinion...

I bought an aluminum 24" x 1.75" coaster brake wheel from my LBS for about $35 in black.

That's what I used on my build off bike...tire fit perfectly.

Hey Brigham... I know its a little late to bring this up now but I got a set of 26 X 3's in the shop I'd let you use for mock up... I actually need them for a project but would be happy to let you use them to check clearances and such.

I know, i know... I was hoping the part where I said they're cool would buy me some grace with them. Becasue they are. They're just not my cup of tea. Some people like Stratocasters, some like Les Pauls, and some like the goofy funky one-off El Cheapo Japanese guitars. While I think they're all cool in their own right, I like the El Cheapo funky guitars. And that taste carried over into bikes. Don't get me wrong, Schwinns are cool, but I'm not a schwinn guy...

Thanks for the offer. I may run a 26x3 up front, but i think I'm gonna go with a 24x3 out on the back... We'll see, but that's what I'm leanin' towards now... I did a little goofin' around with it last night and I think that's what'll work/look best...
