Ok, as i said in my intro here is my first ''show off'' :
The frame is a circa 1965 Atala (italian brand,4 those who don't know)
she's got Schwinn whitewalls and sum aftermarket stuff like the bent springer e so on. I did all the work on her (i will soon post a b4 pic), like the flaked paint the homemade valve caps (of which i will post pikz as well) the furry seat, that i patiently covered n the 8ball axle toppers i threaded myself. No radical modz but overall i suppose (i hope u do 2) a nice example.Enjoy 4 now n as soon as i can i will post pikz of my other bikez n projects, n hopefully i'll get 2 chat w/ u guys as well.
Peace 4 now! The Bone.

PS:I really hope i managed 2 upload the pikz!!!!!

Tanks a lot Kev!
N' while i'm here i must say that your Western RRBBO entry is absolutely sick as well.I totally love the Hoffenhauser valve-cover style tank n the diamond shape shifter.I'm a total hot-rod junkie as well even if i think that at this rate i will never gonna afford one.
Anyway It's funny that your bike is in my personal top five favorites n you're the first one 2 compliment (can i actually say that in english) me.
Right then, I did 3 coats of clear over 5 or 6 of clear w/ the flakes in it.
And u're right they're big chunks cause they actually r ''absolutely rat style'' stationery flakes. No scandal i hope, reason is they're way way cheaper than proper flakes, n if u're at least a little experienced painter u can sure get a good result out of them w/out goin' 4 big bucks paint.
Low buck n proud !!!
Speak 2 u soon.Nick.

Thanks for the Feedback on my RRBBO..

did the tops of the Flake knock off when you Wet Sanded between coats..
Did you Wet Sand between coats
Did you get enough clear on so it's smooth..

I ask because I am going to Flake a Bike soon..
Prolly use the Old Aluminum Flake ,and you
have to be REAL careful
when sanding you don't knock the Color
off The Flake when sanding..

exactly what kind of Flake did you use if you don't
mind me asking..

Did you Blow it on ,mixed in with the clear,
through a huge tiped gun???

Thanks,

peace,
Kev.

I don't mind at all!
Sorry i took this long but i posted 1st reply just b4 i went 2 work this morn n this is the 1st 5 mins i got 2 check the page.
So: yes i sanded between coats (quite a pain 2 b honest)
If i had 2 make it perfectly smooth it would have taken another 2 or
3 coats at least, but then it would have chip'd off much easier
so i made it defenetly not ruff, but a lil bumby (very little),
n must say im quite pleased w/ it.

knockin the color off the flakes or knockin the flakes 4 that matter
is quite hard if u use the "1000" metal sandin sponge thing (i honestly
dont know how u call it over there but im sure u get me)

4 what i used i think the best thing i could do is take a pik at the
can, cause right now i wouldn't know more than i already said,
then i blown it mixed w/ the clear coat w/ the needle totally drop'd
back (believe me if i say that i had 2 sand sum serious drops.....)
I think alu flakes r gonna b as thick but i wouldnt b sure as i
never used them. If u Need i can do sum kind of pictures how 2
on how i regulated the gun n stuff.

I tried 2 b as clear as poss. but if need 2 know anything else or would like 2 see this how 2 i dont mind at all,in the end this is 1 of the reasons we're here i suppose.
Here's how the bike was as found n after sum mods

Fantastic Kev! I appreciate honesty most than anythingelse.I mean, anybody can say "I like it" but when it comez 2 critics not everybody can.
Btw, i was plannin' on changin it w/ a homemade 1 but no pikz until she's done...Call me superstitious!
Peace
