27.5” Schwinn Urban 3 Speed Cruiser

I purchased this China made aluminum framed bike from Amazon back in late July. Out of the box it was a pretty decent rider. I’ve added some upgrades in the form of a Brooks saddle, a layback seatpost, coke bottle grips, rotating bell, cup holder, bottle holder and an adjustable 31.8 stem. I still plan to replace the bars.
The bike came with a 27.5” wheelset, fat cream tires and a Shimano Nexus 3 Coaster hub.
My apologies to the purists, it came with “Phantom” printed on the chainguard. A long ways from a traditional Phantom but that’s the way recycling merchandising seems to go. Out of high school I had a Dodge Dart, again a long ways from the recent “Darts” being sold.

Look like nice urban assault bike !
I bet you find the more you ride it the more you like it . The only thing I would probably want to change it the handle bars . I would go with some Al’s Transit bars .

Changed out stock bars to a pair of Sunlite 33708 black alloy 5” rise with 31.8mm stem mount. Not enough back sweep for me...at least not the geometry I’m accustomed to.

I think the bars are still in limbo. Matt suggested Als Transit Bars. Not ready to spend that much so the ones on it now have similar geometry as an experiment.
My Dodge Dart was a ‘63 Red GT hard top with a screaming slant six. Got a couple of tickets with it.

Mine had stock wheels and full hubcaps. Loved that car, parted ways when I got called up for USNR active duty.

I changed out the bars again from the BMX riser bars to some 31.8 low rise with back sweep. More comfortable for me. If the riser bars had more back sweep I’d use them, my LBS said 10degrees normal for BMX bars.

Wondered if someone would notice that one. I picked it up yesterday at the request of a friend, it’s a Simmons Hardware “Delmar” by Colson. I guess it’s somewhat rare. Wouldn’t mind keeping it myself but it goes to another state.

I have one other bike with a 31.5 stem but the bars wouldn’t really work on it either.
