The laquer clearcoat with added hardener is curing now. It is UV cured, and we have no sun now, so it might be a few days. I added a lot of hardener so it will take longer to cure, but be tougher once it is cured. I've been cleaning bearings, cups, races, etc. I have a colson crank, but I'll have to use a schwinn sweetheart chainring since it's really the only skiptooth I can spare for this project. The wheels may or may not be colsons. They are dropcenters with a Musselman hub. Period correct I think anyway. I'll start assembly in a few days and pics are on the way.

I took this pic and suddenly the lens on my camera malfunctioned(permanently), and then when I plugged the camera in to transfer the pic the jack input on the camera broke off and fell inside. So this is the last pic for a few days. I decided on black for the wheels, but now I'm thinking white for the tires.

That's a sharp looking color scheme! It would be interesting to see white tires.
What are thinking about for seat and grips? Keep up the good work.

I believe it will find itself at Eden. As for bars/grips, I'll probably use whatever cruiser bars are around for now, and white grips. However, in the end I'd love to find closer-to-correct parts eventually. I'm a sucker for clay tires too, but after putting them on, I realized they don't really look right on this one. That's fine because I want to keep the clays for a 37 schwinn motorbike that is in the beginning stages. Had I went with white rims on the Colson, the clay tires may have been my choice. I'm thinking of taking junk tires and painting them white to make sure before I buy the real deal. The seat will be a 37 ladies for now, and probably forever since I'm not going to spend $100+ for a seat on this thing. Probably going to make a wooden tank for this and stain it and laquer.

I was awake and bored as usual. I decided to try my hand at making a waterfall badge for this bike. They look cool and it would be easy to remove if I want the frame badge I made to show instead. Or at least that's what I'll say to justify making one. I wanted to post progress pics of the badge, but the rechargeable batteries for the new cheap camera I just bought were dead. While they charge I have already started on the badge. I'll post pics soon but it will already be almost done.

Here's a pic of the waterfall badge. I messed up a couple tiny spots when peeling the letters off. Once it's really dried I'll touch up the spots.

Here's the waterfall badge mounted up. Easy install and removal. I dig this thing. It took about 10-15 minutes to make not counting paint time.

Those are my dusty prints on the right, it looks better wiped down

Now I just have to find a good deal on some solid white tires. Also going to spring for a polishing wheel for my bench grinder to get my handlebars cleaned up for this build.

I know this build is taking forever. Anyway, here it is with the guard mounted. It's getting there. By the time it's finished I hope to have a better camera.

I finally got some white brick-treads and got them put on. I like them so much better with this bike than the clay-red tires. Now I have a set of prewar colson handlebars that were extremely rusty (as in solid rust on the outside) that I am cleaning up with a flep wheel now. Then I'll use fine grit, and then try polishing. Hopefully they at least end up looking like dull chrome instead of the mess that they are right now.
