Mother of God, how fast does that thing go? And how many batteries, controllers and motors does it burn through in the process?

I don't think the bike has been run yet. Crazy thing is ONE of these motors powers a Citroen 2CV car!

Actually, it started out as a single motor and the builder kept adding 'one more' as he got used to the power. The bike did power wheelies with only one motor. Follow the original link, read the story
