The coldest place on valentines day in the USA, including Alaska was Amasa, Mi in the Upper Peninsula. -40F and -40C is the same temperature. The saying around here when it gets to -40 is that Mr. Fahrenheit meets Mrs. Celsius. By this weekend it will be in the +40s as they are predicting a warm up that will stick around for awhile. An 80+ degree rise in temperature in less than 3 days. Another saying is if you don't like the UP weather, stick around for a few days.

I am glad I live in the UP banana belt. Minus Single digits enough for me. I am hoping this coming weekend does not turn into a rain sleet and salt festival.!
