I finished this bike a while back, but never posted pictures. Mostly due to my computer crapping out.

The interesting thing, I made the switch to Ubuntu Linux. Largely because I am too poor to afford a legitimate copy of Windoze.

Well, I'm back now and have plenty of time to do the bike thing. I took a few pictures of the Higgins this afternoon. Gotta love old factories and warehouses for a cool photo location.

ooooh! i like your bicycle! what kind of saddle is that?

congratulations on switching to Linux, BTW. does Ubuntu install the Gimp? it's good for doing whatever needs to be done to your photos - cropping, resizing, or fancier manipulations, if need be.

Thanks for the compliments. I am trying to improve my photo skills. The seat is a Wrights Olympic 75. I am not sure of the vintage. It is similar to a Brooks B -73, obviously, but of slightly lower quality. Very soft ride.

It is a bit like riding on a cloud. If clouds were made from black leather, anyway.

As for Ubuntu? It comes ready to roll with GIMP and pretty much everything else an average user would need. I ran into a few issues trying to configure dual monitors and a 5.1 surround system, but I love it now! Here is an example of some quick GIMP editing. Pretty handy, and totally free, as is Ubuntu. For those wondering, GIMP stands for: GNU Image Manipulation Program. We aren't making fun of the disabled.

This is a 1 minute filter and clone job. I removed the "3" from the window and applied an "old photo" filter. Fast and dirty.
