Hello all,

I have an old 26" Rollfast Balloon tire bike, skip tooth, I think what is the letter "H" on the sprocket, the badge looks to be brass (currently painted over) with the word Rollfast at the top that seems to be in script, what I think are a circle of ball bearing in the center and D.P. Harris MFG Co on the bottom. When I turn the bike upside down I found 05 SN under the crank.

I think it's all origional except for the red hand-brushed paint. Can anyone help me ID this bike? Also, where can I find a skip tooth chain and tank?

thanks,

BART

you should hit up the Monson MA swap this month, you'll be sure to find a chain. tanks are a bit harder to find but post up some photos and probably someone can help or point you in the right direction.

Yeah, you'll need photos for more information or parts help. But you have lucked out in that most serial numbers don't tell you anything without pictures.. yours does. It's a 1950 bicycle built by HP Snyder and sold through DP Harris hardware stores.

1950?? I would have never guessed...I thought because of the skip tooth it would have been much older! Thanks Jpromo! I've had it for a few years and recently put a springer on it a chrome bell and some wide whites with white dice on the valve stems.

After looking through the Gallary and tons of the photos, suddenly my plan is coming together as to how I want it to look. I'm thinking paint the frame, fenders and wheels flat black, streetsweeper rear fender, crazy ape hangers, chrome bell, black and white leather seat and some very basic white pinstriping. I would like to find a two speed hub and put on a stupid chrome shifter with white dice knob.

Once I figure out how to post photos I'll provide pics of my 2 Columbias, Sterling (Way cool barn find), Roadmaster, Rollfast Currently in my avatar). I have a few other middleweights but havent ID'd them yet (both are boys bikes).
