It's either a 47 or 48? It had been painted multiple times by a kid or very sloppy adult. Typical home paint job where they just painted everything, spokes, tires, rims, frame, seat, you name it. I got it at a yard sale for $20.00 It is complete, the chainguard and fenders have just been removed. I stripped it and the orig. paint was not salvagable. It now is basicly down to the steel and has been clear coated to prevent any further rusting. Interesting note: the head bade is very unique. It has an old zephyr train with a race car along side and a plane in flight on it. Very cool. It rides very nice. Full suspension w canti frame. Put some ritchy logic balloons on it to complete the look and did have to recover the seat. Any input about this rig would be greatly appriciated.

This is the type of badge on the bike. Not the actual one though,I gleaned this off the internet.

Your seat is off of a B6 or similar bike. The Phantom seat is distinctive and has rivets around the edges. The Phantom came out in '49. If your frame has a '47 or '48 date it might be a parts bike or another model besides Phantom. The planes and trains badge in the pic is a reproduction. Gary

Yeah I'm in agreement with Gary here. I found this image on the old internet of a b6 world and it has the front drumbrake like mine and all the other parts seem to match.

Looks very close, so yours must be a B6?

We should order up some blackwall moby's for that baby...it would look sweet.

I have looked over the pic of the b6 very cloesly and do not see any differences between the two bikes? The chain guard is exact the fenders are exact,I did not get the rack with the bike so thats neither here nor there the springer is exact, and when I was stripping the paint the first time there was a hint of that diamond on the seat tube with same red and white detail,Have tried to look into the serial number many times keep comming up with nothing. I know the factory burned in 47 so my assumption is pre 48. I love this ratty rig and will ride it forever.....................................

project rat is a go phantom, you have the green light. Pedals are in the bag...repeat pedals are in the bag! :D

The planes and trains head badges were the same but the background colors varied a little on different models.
