The '53 Bel Airflow guard is in place!
Next up, mount the emblem and then on to the next phase!

As you know, I love the cable reroute. It was bugging me before. :D
I love the way you blended the guard into the rear fender, that makes all the difference in the world. Now it looks killer from every angle!!!! Beautiful work man!

Thanks KF! This is pretty close to the way I had envisioned it. Can't wait to finish off a few more additions, and put this one in the 'Finished' pile!

I must say I really like the new version of the chain guard. It's a huge improvement compared to the woody version, which was ok, but felt a bit like a compromise. But the icing on this BelAir cake are the emblems! They take it where you intended to go with this build, they really make it an hommage to your fathers car!

Got the Bel Airflow emblems mounted, and did a ride around our 'hood on the bike in this 90 degree heat. Got a week of it ahead, so get used to it I guess.

Stopped by my favorite aged cedar fence again. That and the dry brown grass are a nice compliment to my rust-ina and paint combo.

Got a couple tricks up the ol' RNE sleeves , stay tuned....

Thanks @KJV ! I think my dad would have thought what we do here to be really cool and interesting. He loved bikes, from bombing through the cow pastures on his farm bike in the '30s , to the last bike he ever bought at age 83, a Trek Pure (patterned after the Electra Townie) internal hub 3 speed. He rode it every day downtown to the donut shop for coffee with his fellow retired teaching pals.
It was a 5 mile round trip, and the bike served him well the last 4 yrs of his life.

I appreciate the  brother! RaT oN~!

The emblems came out great!
I was trying to figure out what RNE was. I am assuming now that it is Red Neck Engineering, a craft that you have mastered well. However, Redneck is one word. It is a common mistake with our Northern brethren. :D
