This is a 52 chevy. But figured I would share it here anyway.

You said this isn't typical for an OddJob build, but I remember your Rats Gas bike going through a few changes along the way too. Thanks for another video

Lucky for me, my wife is a retired 3M er ! So I'm aware of that product. Good suggestion!

I like where this is going. @hamppea 's digital mockup is way cooler than the crayon drawing I sent ya. But it captures exactly what I was trying to convey.

I also like the idea of doing a color switcheroo to the blue spectrum.

Okay, before I become Page 2 Slacker cannon fodder, I better post up some progress! I was only 4 notches away from slipping off Page 1 !!

We started with a full skirt, went to more of a knee length level, thought about more of a mini skirt (at my age I can't pull that off anymore), and settled on a '50s poodle skirt length. Just enough of the bike showing through, but big enough for a good color palette to be displayed on the '53 Bel Airflow chain guard.

The pictures tell the story:

And with a little help from my friends, @kingfish254 @Dr. Tankenstein and @hamppea , I took ideas from all three and ended up with this, just this afternoon:

Thinking maybe some pinstripe work, the wide Bel Air stripe, a little silver / chrome trim, and couple shades of blue. Yep, blue. After looking at the fenders for so long now, and the blue-toned wheel rims, I will be sticking to a variety of shades from the blue palette for this build.

So get these two beauties from '53 in your head while you look at my mock up....

Since I got back to Minnesota six weeks ago, I have been spending a weekend day and an evening during the week helping my son build a drum studio in his first home. We built a 12' x 14' room, fully soundproof (that's our hope anyway!) and today we got it painted and the lights installed.

It doesn't look like much right now, kind of like my '53 Bel Airflow Shelby; it's bones need to be fleshed out before we can say that it's finished.

Speaking of 'bones', what could ol OJ possibly be doing with kids fleece pajama fabric for the '53? :39:

Fleece and epoxy??? It worked on TRUCKS so yeah..

Drum studio? We apparently have one of those now. Wife made a curbside find for the grandkids.... probably gonna hate this for a bit.

Kyle and I were just talking about when he got his first kit today. I traded in one of my guitars for it, and within a few weeks he was locked in. He was 16 before he started, and spent 2-3 hrs a day practicing, researching, and watching instructional videos by his soon-to-be heroes. He has been renting a studio the past couple years, and is really excited to have this space fully functional.
I'll keep y'all posted on it's progress.

I encourage my grandkids in their musical endeavors. My oldest plays guitar and flute, the 2nd and 3rd are learning ukulele. The youngest isn't 2 years old yet, but looks 4. He could probably already hold a 500# Les Paul, but I think he'll be a bass player.

Wait... I have 4 grandkids.... HOLY S#!£

Last time I went by it was. Richard probably won't retire until he gets buried.

We have a CA house music shop now, it kind of reminds me of Coyle music.

Got an early start today, my shift at the bike shop begins at 10:30 am, so I made good use of my first 3 hrs of awake time.

Ready to leave the basic design stage for the chain guard and move forward into the 'production' stage, I got my C.A.D. - board guard transferred over to 1/4 " pine plywood right off the bat. Then I used my sabre saw to cut out the form. Keeping with the vintage and Dad themes, I used a 7' straight edge that my dad purchased in 1955 to use in constructing our first home. It has brass edges around the hardwood board, and is still straight after all these years. Helps keep the saw going in a relatively straight line.

The straight edge is a Warner brand, probably purchased at Warner's Hardware in my home town, and has still faintly visible in what appears to be grease pencil, "$14.95" on the back side. I'd say we got our money's worth.

Here's a couple of still shots of my early morning progress....

I guess I was out there a little too early for somebody's liking. After I walked around the gazebo to get to the shed to retrieve the cardboard shape before 7 am, I was coming out of the BACK40 when I heard a 'thump' , like when you bump your knee on the table leg , or your 2 yr old bumps their head on the table top as they stand up. I quickly glanced over in the direction of the noise, and saw our neighborhood fox bounding away from the gazebo , through the woods and around the other side of the pond. Seems he / she has been using that for overnights, as my wife reported she had also seen the fox in the early morning hours.

The rest of my day's progress, after work in the bike shop, is reported in the following video. Sit back, crack a cold one, and relax....
