So to combat my post-build-off blues, I jumped on this little project. It's a 1961 Schwinn CoEd - completely original and complete. Figured I'd build a bomber for the wifey since that's on my list after Bourbon & Blue. Sometimes you just wanna rock a patina'd out ratty bomber instead of an original (wifey's Firestone "Peggy") or a shiny custom (B&B). Here's where we started.
Flipped the bars & added the original spot light for B&B
sectioned the rear fender to extend it
picked up a '61 set of fenders and finished the add-in
Swapped out the old s rims for a extra set that aren't quite as needy (i'll rebuild the others later) and got her on the ground.
Resurrected a late 40's saddle (need to re-stitch it) and have a 75deg. layback post is on the way to get the seat back and down.
I'm now looking for a rear 2 or 4 reflector Schwinn rack with the right patina as well as mud flaps and any other period accessories that I can find. Let me know if you have any that need to find new homes.
