I guess all my bikes as a kid were rat rods: personalized, done dirt cheap, improvised and always changing. Now I look for old interesting frames and sometimes motorize them, sometimes not. The bikes will guide you if you let them.
 
Welcome :) I remember taking all my stuff apart and dad or my grandpa having to help me put it back together as a kid. I also remember being told "don't do that again" a lot of those times too :mrgreen:
