'65 Stingray

This is a Stingray the I bought from a friend of mine today that is moving and didn't want to haul it .I've ran the #'s and found it to be build in april of 1965. When he first got it from his father in law (the original owner) it was copper colored and had this bannana seat on it.I asked him if he knew about the forks on it he said they are original but they just don't look right to me because they have alot of threads above the headtube.Any help on that will be appreciated. Bigger pics would help but that fork is definitely not original as the steer tube is way too long. The original color would be coppertone, one of the most desirable Schwinn colors. Its missing most of its original parts though. Still a cool find

Is there anyway to tell if it was a Stingray,Deluxe Stingray,or a Stingray with the springer forks? I haven't made up my mind if I'm going to keep or flip it.I think it's kinda cool but it may be hard for me to get past the fact that it's serial number ends in 666. :lol: :lol:

Unfortunately I dont think theres a way to tell. Im not even sure they had the springers in 66 anymore? But I'm no expert.
