by any possibility is it going to EVER get painted?

Stretch,

I'm a sucker for patina ... so to answer your question, probably not. If I ever get sick of it as is, I'm going to paint it flat black and go wild with some red and white pinstriping.... but I don't see paint in the future at this point.

Well, the weather is good and I got some good shots in the garden.. So nice to see the green coming back!

Does anyone know who made this front fender? It's like a Murray made in that it only has one rivet, but the brace ends have unusually long flat portions, and it seems to be an odd width... not quite a full ballooner fender but definitely not a middleweight. I'd like to find a rear fender to match this particular front fender... Pm me if you have a matching rear fender.

The bike is going back under some revision... I'm re-lacing the front wheel hopefully for the last time, and better yet, I scored myself a really sweet 52 tooth sprocket!

Those cranks are LONG considering the sprocket size. It is really odd to see a Murray made sprocket of this style with 52 teeth (as far as I know; I've never seen another)... most of this type and make have 46... The mag sprocket I currently have on the bike is a 48. I have been riding more with the nice weather arriving and have decided that the crank/chainring combination I'm using is just too small. I'm also starting to feel like the mag sprocket just doesn't "fit" with the look of the bike, and this Murray type will fit in much nicer. This new sprocket should just about fit with the chainguard positioned as it is... I thought the listing was an error but counted the the teeth in the photo and it does have 52 teeth.... A luck find at 6 AM this morning. It was the absolute last result in my search. :D
