Scored these 2 machines today and now I've got RRBO 04, the Reconning, material. I'm thinking about flipping the head tube, chopping the seat down, extending the bottom bracket and adding a springer fork. Sturmy Archer 3spd hub w/coaster brake. A real working differential. There's a lot of potential here and it should be a lot of fun to redo.

The Typhoon frame is for a Muscle bike project when that build off comes around.

neat find, does it have a Columbia headbadge also? now I know what mine is that is out in the shed waiting, very cool find, hope you have fun with it, cant wait to see it done

Rat's!,forgot all about the no frame mods rule!

olschbp,
Headbadge is a sticker, in bad shape. Since I'm flipping the head tube, I gotta' peel it off. I'll get a pic for ya before I do.

The trike looks a lot like the one I fixed up for my wife, except mine it had a shimano 3 speed w coaster. The differential made it a nice ride. Looks older than a 78 by the looks of your sprocket. Did you get the year off the hub?

I had/have one of those. It was my first rat bike. I bought it at a yard sale for $25, and combined it with a Panasonic frame to produce this. I originally had footpads on the back so I could take both kids to the bus stop

After the kids outgrew it, I modded it again, but I just didn't like the direction it was going, so I pulled the springer for my breeze and shelved it. It was waaaaay more fun the first way I had it

Yep, and I'm doubtful it was swapped, but you never know.
