80s shogun chro-mo 400

My aunt brought this to me earlier this week and wanted me to try to find out more about it. She bought it brand new in the 80s and kept it indoors ever since. I aired up the tires and they both hold well. It's all there and I think it has all original parts, even the tires say shogun on them. I know nothing about Japanese bikes and would like to know more about it. Is it worth fixing up? Any information would be helpful.

Shoguns were good quality bikes, pre yen shock. Mixte frame could be a plus, depending on where you are. It's probably worth whatever ladies English three speeds go for in your area which can be highly variable. I'd grease it up, run it up the flagpole and see who salutes it.

Is it worth fixing up so your Aunt can ride/enjoy it again? Absolutely. That's a quality bike, nice chromoly mixte frame, seems like it's really straight/solid and paint is half decent-- probably needs a good cleaning, new cables and rubber, and that's about it.

Whether it's worth fixing up just to sell it, well.... like @pebblewurm said, that depends on where you're at and what the bike market is like in your area. By me, it'd sell pretty easy at a decent price, but there are parts of the country where most folks would have zero interest in it.

That's a nice bike. Doesn't even look like it needs much. That would get decent money in the Boston area. I personally love the aesthetic of the mixte style and I'd ride one if I could come across a cheap one in my size and I don't care what anyone would think! I fixed up one a Nishiki for a friend and a Fuji for my sister and they both rode great—too small for me, but they're happy with them. One thing that annoys me about the style is the rear brake cable routing. I see on yours that the housing skips the provided routing holes. When I first used them, I didn't like how the housing snaked between the guides (anal), so I used a thin aluminum tube to keep it straight. I'll post this in case you like the idea:
