Here's my 95 Schwinn Heavy Duti/Straight-Bar Strandie build. I got the frame awhile back and planned on building a Klunker but at the last minute decided on a More BMX STYLE approach. Has the Haro Cruiser bars and a KMC 710 Half link chain, New 26 inch BMX style straight forks, Ames Repop grips, new front F&R rim, and brand new Deli Cruiser white wall tires, new front caliper brakes, and I converted the coaster brake to a free coaster ( meaning it spins backwards quietly without the licking sound of a freewheel).shadow conspiracy 25t sprocket with SINZ 3 piece cranks, and new aluminum platform pedals, and a custom Faux Snakeskin Bontrager saddle I made myself .. that's my build also hand sanded and painted the frame myself . Lemme know what you guys think any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks in Advance.

Nice looking conversion. What type of cranks are you using? I own a couple of BMX quill stem equipped bikes with BMX cruiser S and M steel bars. Bulletproof. Interested in your freehub conversion. Profile makes a freehub design for tricks and it costs big bucks. Not sure how they work even.

I dig it. How do you convert a coaster brake hub to a free coaster and what hub did you start with?
You gotta start with the coaster brake single speed rear wheel and you take it apart and remove the Lil brake pads in there they will fall out once it's apart then you take the spring out of the hub and bend the Lil spacer that was between the pads down against itself reinstall everything like it was before only throw 3 or 4 washers against the Spring where the pads were and then remove the coaster brake arm that bolts to the frame and you have yourself a free coaster .. there's a few good videos on YouTube that walk you through it step by step though.

I imagine that the technique of converting a coaster brake to a free coaster is going to depend on the design of the coaster brake. I would have to think about how to get that to work with a Velosteel coaster brake.
