It looks promising. I really hope this goes into production. Notice it says 4.5" wheels. I wonder if it has never-heard-of-before 4.5" rims, or if the tires just bulge out a bit past the 4" rims? Either way, I might pick one of these up in the future. At that price, I might even chop it up and customize it.

Definitely looks like it...same rear drop outs.

The fork looks different.

Two different bikes...this one looks like a Walmart Beast?

This one is similar to a Surly. Different front and rear fork.

You can see that the down tube and the head tube are different than the Beast on this one. Looks like it runs an integrated headset. The rear drop outs are Beast-ish though.

I concur with the Yahoo review...there'e something fishy about the Storm's spec. That particular battery (not proprietary) doesn't hold muster to the bigger batteries...almost all ION batteries take at least 3-4 hrs to charge. Plus the small 350W motor is terrible for climbing hills, but ok for the flats. I guess that's how they measured getting 30 miles? Which is hard to believe, considering the size of the battery and the weight of a rider? I'm 220 lbs and there's no way with a 45lb under my but will I achieve 30+ miles? Also did anyone notice in their ads no one is riding the bike seated, everyones standing on the pedals...I wonder if the bikes are small since I didn't see any frame sizes in their ads.

They claim to be hosting a demo day in Santa Monica, California Sunday the 15th. They have 2 bikes to demo and 130+ have rsvpd. Hope they bring extra batteries.

According to that article, the inventor was already sued for fraud in another case in 2008 -- and lost! Unfortunately, "When asked via email if his company had ever collected the money, [their] CEO...replied, 'We’re working on it,'" which sounds like a "no" to me!

Even crazier, or worse, the company that's behind the lawsuit "is no stranger to controversy itself. Prior to the Storm eBike, Agency 2.0’s most 'successful' crowdfunding campaign had been for the Kreyos Smartwatch in June 2013. That campaign raised $1.5 million on Indiegogo before the company collapsed, leaving thousands of people who spent $100 or more on a watch with nothing in return."
