A question of light

I want to get a serious set of lights on my riders. I want bright enough to see on an unlit path at night. Bright enough to be seen a long ways away. Oh yeah- they have to be cool enough looking to go on a chopper. I don't want something that looks like a flashlight taped onto the handlebars- So what are you guys using for night riding? Any suggestions welcome.

For that level of light consider converting a cool vintage light to LED. Harbor Freight has a 32 LED flashlight for less than $10 I have used. There are several threads in the how-to forum that explains the conversion.

Here is a compact LED that is very bright. If you don't like the look you can install it in an old looking light like am setting up.
