So it's not so fresh of a find but even so I never did post about it lol so here it is. I figured i'd show everyone this 1939 Raleigh Sports. reason for posting is I got it on the road today and am very happy.

Why it was unused and sitting in my shed for a while? well it had strange sized tires and ordering them was a stupid silly price so I didn't . anyway I was digging in my small parts shed to find parts to rebuild a Raleigh Sports. I went to put the tire on a rim and wondered why it was so loose. then I prayed to god that it's what I thought it was and tada! it was. a very good condition fitting tire!

They are drop bars. I forget the spelling to their name but I like them this way better.

I really like that bike! (and I think I have a brand new/NOS Kenda tire set that will fit...) What is the tire size? The bars are super cool. I bet they are really uncomfortable the other way but it would pretty cool.

I really sucks riding it when they are dropped lol tire size is 26. 1 1/4 E.A.l rim. I found a website that sells them. the tire itself was like 20$ or so and for two of them it was close to 100$ because random shipping charges.

26 x 1-1/4 should be the same rim diameter as Schwinn S-5/S-6. (597mm)

Tires aint my Strong point lol the rear hub is a 3 speed drum brake with special 3 speed wingnuts. I'm trying to find a chain guard for it. I think I have a 1972 Sports chain guard that will fit it. I have many Raleigh sports spare parts because I collect Raleigh Sports. lol only men's models anyways. the ladys ones are parts bikes. the headlamp on this bike is neat. it takes batters. though I think the size is not made anymore lol it also has alot of weird settings.
