Desert run. Our compass and landmark for the past seven years, The Red Mountain.

Complex was great when I was younger, simple is my choice as I’ve aged. Looks good as it is.
Thanks MF. Yeah, I had some ideas for some add-ons, accoutrements, gee gaw, whatever you want to call it. But after following those thoughts, I ended up where I started; back to the basic bike as it sits. It's very solid as a rider, and as clean looking as a 'bandit' can get, I imagine.

I do have one other idea I want to pursue, but it wouldn't be a permanent 'fix' on the bike as it is built right now.

Looks right at home out there. Gorgeous country 😎
Yeah, we are just a 1/2 mile from where I took this photo. I will miss being this close to the edge of the desert wilderness. But our new place is close to another trails area, about 3.5 miles. But I'll miss our old friend, Red.

Looks great!

It may just be my personal take (and a minor one), but it looks like the chainring is turned around. Not sure if there is a right or wrong way though.
But if it was turned around, wouldn't I only be able to go in reverse? :nerd:

I think I have the 'flatter' side facing inward, so I assumed that was correct.

Get yourself a sombrero or make a sombrero helmet…sun protection you know. Bandito style

There has been some mention that my chainring may have been mounted turned around, or back-front, inside-out, etc.

I'm okay with that. In fact, with it mounted serendipitously like it is, it resembles a 'brand' that might have been used in the old west.

The Dos Eses brand; 'two s's', which I have in my last name as the first and fifth letters.

It looks like an Evans chainring.

I've got a little something on the way that will spice up this burrito, er, bandito.

One of our favorite places down here is Moreno's Mexican Grill. And it's close by, which makes weekly visits very likely. The burrito is a good one, and that's saying something in the land of authentic Mexican food!

And just for frame of reference (bike pun intended), that's a 10 inch circumference plate.

Hopefully my new addition to the Bandito will arrive today and I can begin work on incorporating it into the build.

In the meantime, my buddies at the open mic jam and I had fun with this Blind Faith tune during our Clapton Compilation night; playing three tunes that Clapton had covered and recorded written by other artists. Here's Steve Winwood's "Can't Find My Way Home".

Kevin on lead acoustic, Robert on tenor sax, DK on mouth harp, and yours-true-Lee on guitar and vocals.

That's on the proper direction.

Ese burrito se ve bien ! 🤠

Just got word that our closing date will be next Wed, Feb 19. So between now and then, I will try out my little 'addition' to the build, do a filmed test ride (firm believer that all builds should be ridden for validation that it is 'rideable') and post up my Finished Build.

My 3 week timetable is working out just right!

I'm going to miss my desert trail right out my front door. Came back from another fun little 3 mile spin just now.
