I came into these two beauties, a ladie's Schwinn and a CCM frameset. I thought the Schwinn would be perfect for my wife, and as luck would have it it's a 1966 model, as is she. It's a little older than her though, it was born on February 8th, and she didn't come along until September. I'm sure she'll be thrilled that I put her age all over the internet.

The tank horn still works in this thing!

The other gem is a CCM frame, and I can only assume that the forks and stem/bar setup are CCM also. I know pretty much nothing about these other than they were made in the Great White North. The serial number on the frame is G022476. Anyone have any clues as to how old it might be?

There are no markings on the forks that I can see, so I don't know for sure if they are indeed the original forks. Help...any and all info would be great!
Thanks- Pete

I think the forks and stem and bars arn't for it. I'm canadian and that frames an old one, the forks on old ccm didn't look like that. hard to explane them, and the stems alloy bars maybe maybe not. I know I found a matching pair of very old ones up where I camp. I havn't asked yet but i'd proberly be able to get them. they are well ordaments lol

The bars and stem look like Schwinn parts, but maybe not. The forks look post-war as well, probably only half as old as the frame. Don't place bets based on my opinion, though! :?

I'm no expert, but I'd guess '40's. (I've been looking at one that I suspect to be a '50's model, with a less refined badge- yours looking much more like thicker stamped brass than mine which appears to be a painted plate- could be even older, but that's my guess). Super cool frame!

This chart is the one I use for dating my CCM's and the serial numbers are usually found on the left side of the seat post tube right below the clamp. From what I've seen the single top bar ones with rear facing dropouts are 40's possibly earlier and went double bar in early 50's. The G in your serial # is kindof puzzling though according to the chart unless you have a couple different sets of #'s. Hope the chart helps.

Chris, the badge is at least an 1/8th of an inch thick...it's the coolest part of the bike. I'm thinking of painting the frame gloss black with some fine pinstriping and lightly polishing the raised parts of the badge. How do you think that would look?

Cool- thanks for the info! That would look stunning, I can't wait to see it progress!
