About to get this schwinn roady but not sure what it is

My friend is clearing out her dad's basement and I'm doing her a "Favor" by taking it off her hands.
I can't tell what it is from the crappy pictures but I am guessing its a 1977 varsity

She also has a beautiful Mercian that she found the original recipt for and knows that it was a $900 bike in 1980.

great ride and very little frame flex for full figure guys had one once and loved it wish i still had it

Me no likey drop bars....why do we need to ride with our butts in the air? I also hate center pull brakes. I'm putting aero levers and some old side pulls of of an old varsity. I feel awkward riding this. Is it just me?

no, if your used to fat tire bikes skinnies feel wierd for a while. There are tons of bikes that have non snail bars that people ride.
