Second last item sorted. This is the reason for the left hand drive train. I have used a rear hub as the mid drive. This gives me coasting ability still, and allows me to drive to the back wheel

Last item on the list is sorting chains now, then a test ride can happen.

This weekend is paint time. I'm hoping with paint and polish, the less attractive side of the wheels can be dressed to an acceptable level. We will see how that goes. Keen to hop on and get some riding in. Currently winter down in Australia, but coming into spring. Perfect riding weather coming up

Chains on, almost ready. Need to fab up a brace for the centre hub. Then the test ride can finally happen. Yes I have scooted around on it.

OK, it's Friday night down under. All fab work is complete, drive train all working and got in a successful test ride in the dark The 6 mile ride on strava might be a challenge, but I'll rolls along awesome on loose gravel. My daughter even got on for a test ride and loved it. Tomorrow is tear down and paint day.

Sneak peak at the paint job. Automotive 2k. Had my daughter help mix the colour. Very light metallic. Did get a few bits of dust in it, but they will polish out OK. Waited till the sun came out and blasted it on outdoors LOL.

Wheel centres painted up, great contrast to the blue frame. Tomorrow I'll black out the forks, axles etc

We have had fat wheeled bike builds before. And we've had automobile wheeled bikes before. But this wheel and tire combo is FAT!

This build is so fun! Paint is looking good. And those tires are, just; HUGE!

I think I managed to pretty up the 'not so pretty' side of the wheels successfully. Didn't end up throwing garbage in them in the end

No, it's just my private collection hahaha.
These old school three peice wheels are a bit of a hobby.

Big progress tonight. Reassembly finished, and a test ride completed. 7 days left to finish the fine details, and get some good pictures and a ride video.
Going to have a go at a few shed/workshop scene pictures and see how it turns out.
