Bought this back in early fall and just now found my pictures. Found it on CL and the Dude said it was a 60's and he was about three sheets in the wind when I got there. It has the 2 speed Bendix and the Schwinn cantilever brakes with all the parts. the serial number is 39000 which I thought was cool to find one with an even number. Treid to sell it this past weekend and the guy wanted me to give it away so it is going to get to hang in the shop some more.

Same here. If I had more cash I'd grab it for my collection, Don't have a '55 yet. So far I have a '54, '56, '58, '66, '68, and two from the '80's

Been here for over 20 yrs, grew up in Boone. Been a bike junkie for a little over 2 yrs and just can't kick the habit.

I have a red and white '55 American too. Mine has a red/white mattress saddle on it.
I was told it's all original. Nice riding bikes.
