Ok, here's my build. 70's era 20" AMF Shelby Renegade. It's not really to bad of shape. Thought about just cleaning it up, but that's not what I want. I bought this bicycle back in 2011, or 2012 at one of the swap meets that Peddlers Bike shop had. I brought it home and put the springer on it. I put those wheels on it then too, but I don't like them. So far all I've done is pulled it out of the bunch of bikes where it's been sitting all this time. Teardown is next, cleanup the chrome, and paint it. I've ordered new wheels, seat, hand grips, and another tall sissy bar, but I'll see if this one cleans up. Looking forward to this one.

Teardown is done. This bike is pretty rough. The chrome is not as nice as I was hoping, but it will have to do. The head badge is not the best either. I'll clean up the chrome and head badge as best I can and go with it. New wheels arrived yesterday and look pretty nice. More parts arriving today or tomorrow. Not sure if I will just sand the frame or put stripper on it. It might fit in my bead blasting cabinet, if it will that would be a big help.

I spy you have a Yamaha C3 in the back ground, it looks sweet! I just sold my C3 this past summer.

Yes I have a C3. I built it a few years ago and haven't ridden it very much. It was getting it's battery charged. I did a bunch of tweaking on it and it goes 53 MPH. Since then I've bought a big bore kit, bigger cam, bigger injector, etc. I haven't installed those parts yet.

Very cool! I had all of the Polini mods on mine. 67cc big bore, kevlar belt, high speed variator, clutch, etc. Was a lot of fun!

Pulled my tires out of the barn. They've been in the barn so long they have mud dobber nests in them. It's a little cold to clean them up today, real feel is 20. Supposed to be nicer tomorrow and over the weekend, so I'll clean them up then.

You may want to deflate them and give the tires a squeeze or two and reinflate.
The bead does not look seated in the red area and may pop off. :13:

New sissy bar arrived today after the post office lost it. It shipped Nov. 27, just arrived today from Calif. I'm surprised it's not damaged. Waiting on the new seat now. It shipped from Calif on the same day as the sissy bar. The handgrips I ordered shipped the same day as the other parts and arrived 3 days later.

My headbadge is kind of rough. It's held on with the original rivets and I didn't want to remove it. Someone, probably the little angel that owned it bent both sides of the badge away from the frame, so I mixed up some JB weld and put it under the edges of the head badge. I covered the head badge with masking tape to keep it from getting the JB weld on it. I wrapped cardboard around the neck and used two hose clamps to suck the edges of the badge down. I let it dry a few days and went and worked on other projects. Took the hose clamps off today and it looks great. Now I'll sand the frame.

My new seat arrived today from Calif. It shipped Nov. 27 and arrived today Dec. 10. Gotta love the post office. I'm just thankful the seat and the sissy bar that the post office also lost arrived with no damage. I need to order a new chrome rear fender, and some old school pedals. I've been buying everything from bike shops on ebay. so far so good. I'd buy local if I had a place that had the parts I need. When I moved here 20 years ago we had an old Schwinn bike shop downtown, but, sadly the original owner passed away. Here's a little article on the bike shop. https://www.komu.com/news/sedalia-l...cle_bdacb59a-8d56-53cd-b8a1-4fa266a7615d.html Cecil was a great guy, and his bike shop still had a bunch of old inventory.

Haven't touched the bike since my last post. Lots of stuff going on here. Mother in law passed away 2 days ago, she was 93 and lived by herself right up until the end. We can't ask for anything more. I also did a complete paint job on a full size Chevy truck, as well as some other things. Time to clean up the shop now and get back on the bike. I do have all the parts here to finish it.

Thank you. Haven't really worked on it. It's amazing how much stuff you have to go through when someone passes. Her car is sold, house is cleaned out, and granddaughter and boyfriend have moved in. I did get my shop cleaned up after some big mechanical jobs made it a mess. I did a test panel with the color I'm going to paint it. I sprayed the color over white primer, grey primer, and black. not much difference between the grey or the white, but the black is to dark. So I think I'll spray it over white primer. New seat post came in a week or so ago.

Primed everything today. The weather has been nice. Supposed to rain Saturday and Sunday, maybe snow Monday. I hate the inconsistencies in the weather. Anyway I finished my V8 S10 motor rebuild. Now on to other projects.
