I'm waiting on Thursday. At 5pm, the doors open to a huge rummage sale at a local church. The thrift store never had any bikes, so I asked why. They save them all up for the big sale, and sell them dirt cheap. The lady said to get there early and buy as much as I wanted. I'll take the tonneau cover off my truck, because I plan to stack bikes as high as I can carry them.

I'll post up pics Friday.

A-Men to that..

I'm going to enjoy the moment. The moment when I announce loudly: "I'll take all of them!" A once in a lifetime event. The wife will go nuts momentarily, and the onlookers will stand in awe, but I'll stand there in all my glory knowing I've got it under control. I'll then announce: "It's for charity!" The wife can't argue, not in front of the crowd, who now love me more than Al Gore in the middle of a hurricane. I've got a plan for later, as I'll park the truck, loaded 10 feet high with bikes, and we'll get in the car and go out for a movie and dinner.

That's my plan.

Let me know where you are going to park the truck ...I will keep an eye on it...

Good luck, and don't skimp on the photos! The way my luck runs, I'd get myself whipped into a lather before the sale, only to find a pile of Roadmasters and Nexts. :|

Well, they were lined up for 3 blocks waiting for the sale. We could walk along and look, and all I saw that looked like anything was a rusty Huffy 10 speed. It looked pretty bleak, almost everything was kids and toddlers bikes, about 30 of them. A couple of roadmaster mountain bikes were about it.. There were a bunch of kids all waiting to get bikes, so I didn't announce I was going to "buy every last bike". This was not what I hoped for at all. So I walked in with the angry mob and went over to the Huffy. It had a price tag of 1 dollar, and it has 2 good tires, 26 x 1 3/8ths. I found out later all the bikes had to be roadworthy to sell. This one's brakes and gears were rusted and frozen but it was mine with no argument from anyone. Then I noticed what looked like red bike parts and looked closer. A complete Dahon folder one speed folded up and laying on the ground.. 5 bucks. I grabbed it and went to pay the lady. A woman running the concessions saw me riding it to my truck and asked if I had bought it at the sale, and was amazed when she saw the 5 dollar price tag on it. I went back and got the Huffy, then a big deluxe electric grill for 10 bucks.

With that many peopIe if you announced you wanted to buy all the bikes you would have started a riot.I hope you at least went out for Dinner and a Movie...Cool folding bike is it Aluminum or steel looks in good shape...

It's steel, and the serial number IDs it as a 92 model, according to their webpage. The paint looks good in the picture, but it's scraped up pretty good on the other side, but mechanically it's very good, everything works and the wheels are straight. I wonder if anyone has ratted out a folder.
edit: rear fender is missing
