We're out and about adding a few more states to our ride list. If you didn't know we have a goal to ride rails-to-trails, paths, beaches etc... in every state. I believe we're well over half now. Past couple of days we rode along the Mississippi river in Illinois and the Ohio river in Indiana. Videos here...
Sam Vadalabene Great River Road Bike Trail in Alton Illinois http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3Ze0p-QbVE
Pigeon Creek Greenway Passage in Evansville Indiana http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zV-o4NOb20o
Rode in Kentucky today and will post that later. Will be hitting a few other states also.
More info and photos can be found on our blog
Thanks for checking it out.

Nice pics and wonderful time of year for a bike vacation. Pretty amazing you can hit that many states in a short time.

I would have packed a fishing pole..LOL
What a great area to view.. looks like it was a good time.

Thanks all.
The ride in Kentucky was to Mammoth Cave National Park. Great ride and the fall colors were awesome. Here's the video

Rode a nice trail along the Tennessee river in Chattanooga today. Heading to South Carolina tomorrow.

Side note: my riding partner and I celebrated 22 years of marriage today. Went to Walmart, picked out cards for one another, exchanged them and then put them back on the shelf. We've been riding together since we first started dating.

Stopped in Nashville for lunch yesterday

I just caught up in your trip. Wicked cool as we say in New England. I had to laugh at you dilemma with the camera. I have had the same problem with my videos. For this reason and I can't handle my phone in the left hand I have swapped my brake levers around or I should say the cables on a few bikes but it drives my friends nuts. It is easier on a trike but still shaky. Wind in the mike is another problem I have.
You guys are having a great trip, love seeing it, keep up with the pictures and videos.

Thanks for the comments fellas. I've been trying to figure out a way to get paid for this. Maybe if I'd promise to wear my RRB shirt everyday Steve would foot my travel bill  . Speaking of the shirt, it's buried in my suitcase. Haven't got down to it yet but need to get a pic of me in it.
Off to Arkansas now.
Here's a few pics from Charleston and Folly Beach South Carolina. So far (on the surface) we've seen the coolest bikes in this area although I didn't get photos of them.

I don't travel much on vacations , but you always make me envious of the trips you take. I always look at all your pictures and wish I was there. Thanks for all of us that don't get to roam around the US
You really ought to get one of these. They are little and you could clip it on your hat . They take several hours of video . You can download them directly to your computer....They are about $ 13 on ebay.

Yes Randy...many of us live vicariously through you on these trips...ha ha.

My question to you is...how do you get so much time off of work?

I would think that a company like Trek, Electra or Felt would do well to sponsor you and your bride on some of these trips since you do such great photo-documentation along the way. Would make for a great advertising campaign.

Thanks Steve, Uncle Stretch. I'll have to check in to that little camera. As for the time off of work... I've been at my place of employment over 30 years now and my bride who also works for the same company has been there over 29 years so we get quite a few weeks off. We almost always take 2 of our weeks off this time of year.

Here I am a couple places today sporting my new RRB shirt. Can you figure out where?

I gotta tell ya. Because of you and the videos you've posted in the past, my wife and I did a LOT more biking this year. New England has some great bike paths, and we enjoyed a number of them. Next year may be the BIG trip.......Thanks Randy.

First pic - on a porch

Second pic - I dont know if the Crossroads is in Clarksdale or Greenwood, but Im guessing the devil works at that gas station.

Great vids, looks like a blast.

If you want hands free operation while recording check out the GoPro Hero cam, they have an assortment of handlebar, seatpost, helmet, and chest adapters. After trying a couple of cams and different mounts I think the chest mount is the most compelling viewpoint from a bike. There are several models at different pricepoints, but here's a look at the wide-angle HD view, there's a taller view mode I'm going to try the next time that I've used out in the surf(waterproof housing available) I think that'll be better, of course you lose the capability to turn the cam around like you did;

socal_jack thanks I'll check in to the mounts. The chest mounted perspective is neat.
CCR the first pic is at Elvis Presley's birthplace in Tupelow and the 2nd is in Clarksdale and yes it's the crossroads where legend has it Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil to play guitar.
KOTA some day we'll do the New England states. Looks like a lot of great trails up that way. That's a trip will want to allow plenty of time for. We've been as far as Pennsylvania and New York but didn't ride while we were there. Well I guess my wife has ridden in PA when there on a trip without me.

Rode a rail-to-trail in Arkansas today. More on that later.

Thanks everyone for your interest and comments.
