another chicago schwinn find today

as i got home tonite , and was unloading the collegiate i got , my neighbor presented me with a gift for all my help to him thruout the years , his old schwinn !! he said i knew u were into bikes so i fished this out of my father in laws garage and want you to have it .... problem is he repainted it and i dont know what model it is - any help ?? looking for any info on it

serial number is AJ500538 - both wheels are quick release

ps - not for this bike , but .....anybody have any 24 x 1 3/8 tires for my wifes junior ten speed ? i need some and cant find any reasonably priced ... used are ok

Scroll through here. There's several options between 9-11$ a tire.. so you can get a pair for less than 30$ shipped. That's quite reasonable to me at least.

What year did they switch to chrome forks on the Continental? Mine has chrome but is a late 70's bike. Gary

aparrently this one was originally yellow - i plan to take it back to the yellow - , and trim in grey and small touches of white
