What are the ISO numbers on these "new" tires? Manufacturers make claims on the sidewall of their products but what counts is the actual measurements.

I'm curious about the newer 22 inch bmx wheels and tires too. I'm 6'2" and a 24 is too big while a 20" feels so small...

From what I've seen these are 650c tires, just knobby, sort of like 29ers are just 700c tires.

So there are smooth rolling options, but all road tires.

Eventually, there will be a little wider road version, but nothing like 26" ballooners.

Nope. 27.5" is AKA 650B. Not C. They've been using 650b on various bikes for close to a century, especially french bikes. These are 584mm etrtro. Currently, about the fattest semi-slick ones are Schwalbe HS 315, at a l'il over 2" (54mm) wide.

fwiw, this is not a new size for mtbs, either. The earliest ritchey mtbs were 650b bikes, shod with nokian hakkapeliitta tires. Later, Schwinn used the 584 on mtbs, using the name s4 for the tire size. Plus, Kirk Pacenti has been plugging 650b/27.5" for close to a decade now....
