Another powdercoat question

I've had coated plenty of parts but recently I've thought of doin it to a sprocket.
of course paint on a sprocket would chip & wear, but what about powdercoat?
anyone try this before?

Never tried it, but I think it's inevitable that a powdercoat wears off in the end. At least,there where the chain hits the sprocket..

I painted this chrome mag sprocket years ago for my RRBBO1 bike. It's gotten a lot of use on different bikes and held up well. Here it is most recently.

A color other than black may not look so well over time though.
