what is the purpose of the jackshaft, please? i was wondering about something like that arrangement today.

the jackshaft is just another way to alter the chain line, it provides no extra gearing or anything other than it looks cool and allows me to sit a lot lower. :lol: and here it is as it sits in my driveway.
i still need to weld in the jackshaft, weld in the seat post, get the chain, and swap out the front fork for something that fits a balloon tire better. oh and finish spreading the rear stays.

it does look cool
guess it also keep you from having one insanely long chain.that's a wild looking bike. it's practically a recumbent, ain't it?
thanks! it is qutie comfortable, but not laid back like a recumbant.
