Here's my latest. Another Peterbilt 352 but I went a little further into the details on it.

It's another kit-bash of the Peterbilt cab with a New Ray toy. I like the stretched frame of the New Ray trucks. I de-chromed almost everything, filled and smoothed the deck and made a rear bumper that blends in to the rear fenders.
Peterbilt35220Feb2012005-vi.jpg

The front bumper was de-chromed and holes for LED lights were drilled and an air intake opening was made. A small screen will be placed on the back side of the air opening.
Peterbilt35220Feb2012003-vi.jpg

All cab lights & horns shaved and filled.

Custom made rear bumper that's molded into the fenders. The 4 round holes will hold the LED taillights. The two larger holes on the back of the cab will also have LEDs.

Got this one just about done. I still need to do the electrical on it tho. I added a trailer since it is a "Farm Truck" and painted it to match. I had to make a new top for it since it didnt have one. I also made new stacks from aluminum tubing & polished them and made a drop visor out of a strip of brass.

Matching taillights for the trailer and I made real rubber mud flaps.

I like that Peterbilt 352, I also like the Maximum Overdrive Happy Toyz trucks that I have seen elsewhere.

I read something about that truck not too long ago. I think it was only made for a year or two. Someone also made their own model of it. Either way it's a slick looking truck!

  • I haven't built any models in years , but I still have over a closet full of unbuilt unfinished kits . Here's one I built years ago , when I used to race pure stocks

Thats pretty cool! I'm sort of doing thesame thing to one right now. I'm using a resin body this time but this is the first time ive used one so I'm not sure how I'll like it or not. Guess time will tell. I've had it for awhile but need to finish it and the diorama that goes with it.

Time to wake up a dead thread, I got bored so back to model building. Scored this 90% complete '32 Ford kit at the local flea market for $4 so I figured I'd build it into a half completed project and put it in my garage diorama next to the '27 ford pickup. It is missing one cylinder head, all the glass, and a few other things but good Rat Rod material. Not done but looking good. Flat black with a gloss clear and red and white accents looks great on this.

Then I started another pet project with some leftover parts I had in my junk bin. An old Peterbuilt cab and a free wood periscope thing I got from Lowe's and I am making a cool car hauler. Have to make a frame for it because I broke the old one to salvage just the cab not thinking I'd ever use the back end but I do still have it so some mending will be needed.

Been a model maker for many years only just found this thread, looks like mainly cars so I hope none minds a military vehicle.
Here is my latest, finished recently took just under a year to complete, full option rc with engine, main and machine gun sounds.
Fair bit of modification with a few after market bits, hatches, crew etc. Tried to get close to a late model Panther G, the last
version late in the war, fairly new looking not overly weathered.

Have made the driver and commander so they can hunker down for combat, high and low positions, prefer them in the lower position.

The rear end note the steel wheel on the last axle, the germans where running out of rubber towards the end of the war so used steel.

For the small model engines I used thread and elmers glue to make plug wires, takes time and patience!

Very cool models, wish I had the time.

Here some I have built over the years. Just pulled them off their shelf so their pretty dusty.
My Chevy dually, and F150 (plan on repainting it to match my truck)

The dragn wagon woody

Black magic camaro

67 Goat missing the grill and drivers side front wheel

Rods hopper Impala

Road Rats 53 Belair still in its box.

Always wanted a WW I rc micro got hold of a Flyzone DR I, only a small model all foam with a 14 inch (35cm) span,
got Snoppy keeping an eye on the Baron's six. The second pic shows the receiver, speed controller and servos for
elevator and rudder, no ailerons on this model.

Repainted her in a different scheme which I found on the net and now I can't find again, don't you just love that!

Weathered using artists charcoals, trying to depict all the oil that would have flowed back in the prop wash.

Added spark plugs with leads and exhausts to the engine, no she doesn't rotate with the prop. The wing tip scrapers
made from wire rather than micro axe handles as with the real ones and yes they are made to be functional

Managed to get some flying shots of my little Dridecker, not as easy as it looks, trimmed her up
to free fly then ran alongside with my camera, did a couple in B & W in an attempt to date her.

Here is my RNZAF (Royal New Zealand Airforce) Corsair, the kiwis had over 400 late in the war, mainly used in a ground attack roll, never shot down an enemy as they got them late in the conflict. Getting pretty close to commiting aviation with this little gem, bit of a mistake to paint her up before her maiden flight, had a few of these ultra micros now and they are great.

Used a New Zealand company Ventura's excellent 1/32nd scale decals, the Kiwis painted over the stars and bars and as you can see added roundels to both wings top and bottom.

Love the bent wing bird or "Whistling Death" as they were also called Weathered her with white chalk and pastels, the effects of that hot Pacific sun!

I went in a second hand shop today and about had a fit when I found what I found. Anyone who knows me knows I have a weakness for model cars... Especially vintage ones... So when I found these I had to have a go. The one has a copyright of 1971 the other one is 1975. I certainly have not seen either one before.

Well the green one was in the box half put together but all the parts seem to be here!

Also a ton of stickers and papers that go to other models I don't even have
IMG_20150120_202319136.jpg

Then the other box didn't have the right car in it but I'm even happier it didn't because it had 3 finished cars in it!
The Fiend... Which is very nicely done I might add

Great buying!

Some of my more recent stuff:

You have a great knack for patina and sculpture, those are very cool!

Luke.

Thanks, I did pay a bit more than I wanted to and broke my $5 rule. (I never go north of $5 on a model car because I'm cheap and it cuts down on my clutter) but at $5.50 per box I could not turn it down over 50 cents. Anyway i got the green machine put together today but the decals are way too brittle to survive transfer even being super gentle. A few suspension parts were missing on the front end but I made due with what I had

Also figured I'd give an update on my hauler project. The frame is back together, I made a tire rack into the headache rack, and I did a rim swap. Still need to paint the bed but it is pretty cool.

Also found a firetruck model at Goodwill for $3 so I bought it too
IMG_20150121_082905.jpg

Not really helping my clutter situation... And there's 10 there you can't see tucked into the spaces between VCR tapes... and 12 more on my other shelf... And 20-something in the closet... and probably a few more I can't think of right now...
