I believe I am currently in the process of being ripped off. A member of their staff uses thecabe and I purchased a tank half for $40 shipped. Once I paid, communication stopped. PM's were unanswered. I called and was told that the tank half had shipped 2 days prior. So I waited and waited. It never showed so I started trying to contact again. I was told that it was sent signature confirmation and that when it wasn't signed for it was returned to their shop. There was never a slip left at my door telling me to go to the post office to pick it up and sign. Plus the post office will hold a package for signature for some time. According to them it shipped right back. They offered to send again without signature confirmation. I'd rather not given the shadiness thus far. Since then I have emailed and called every day, even telling them in the emails that I would accept a refund minus the shipping cost so nobody is out. The phone goes straight to voicemail and no calls or emails are ever returned. My last email stated that I will wait until September 4th, one month after original payment was made, to contact paypal and start a claim. Am I being fair? They have had every opportunity to return my calls or emails, and even if it was a complete scam, they could refund $30 and keep the other $10, but now I may end up getting my money back through paypal (hopefully). I don't want to go that route though. Anybody who can vouch for them or has had troubles with them as well? Thanks

I finally received an email today. Ironically it directly followed the posting of this thread. Anyway, there was a return email (finally) and a phonecall placed by me which was actually answered. Let's hope this turns out positive.

Ask for the delivery tracking number. That way you can see for yourself if they are being honest or not.

I tried to order parts from them once but couldn't ever get in contact with anyone now I'm glad I couldn't because you are being way nicer than I would be

I send my money orders with tracking... and i only send money orders. and no P O box...
that way if you dont ship .. I know where to start looking for you  I would demand my money back
but do let us know how it turns out... we may have to put a warning up here and the cabe buyer beware.

I hope you get your parts...

The best thing you can do in your defense is to file the Paypal claim. It's the only thing that will get some operators attention.

What happens is that they will be unable to collect any money or send what they have into their account- it's frozen until the dispute is resolved.

They don't like this, so they will work (if they are a legit company of any sort) to get their name cleared.

Paypal may take a week or more to investigate and resolve a complaint. It's all started automatically from their website, and it's easy to do. Typically you'll find a menu for "items not received" or "items not as promised." It's important to send as much as you have for details to Paypal, so they can investigate quickly and get back to you.

I have found Paypal to be very fair and upstanding to work with, and they seem to try really hard to make things right for all sides.

Good luck with it.

At first when I read this , I thought Oh wow here is another situation where the Seller get blamed for everything.
There are reasonable complaints and then there are other complaints.
One time I got Email about an item on tuesday about noon. Finally at Friday 4:45pm the item was ordered and paid for. We Emailed the customer and Thanked them for the order. Monday Morning we packed several orders and by 3pm all items were shipped. At 4:00 pm we started all the person Emails to customers telling them that their items had been shipped.
The phone rang and I had a female yelling and asked why she had not received her item yet. Saying it has been almost a week and she was putting in a PayPal Claim. She felt like she had been scammed.
She said all this before I could say anything. I reminded her that it had been paid for on Friday 4:45 and was shipped on Monday. She said OK, But shipping costs were a bit high. ($5.27) This was what it cost us to ship the item.
Then even though I gave her a tracking number she still said. "Well I will look for it, I should have received it by now. I NEED IT"
Shipped from Wisconsin to California.
I have never had a claim on PayPal, But I have heard that they are NOT fair to Sellers and take the money and return it to Buyers without even contacting the Sellers.

Thats my 2 cents.
But then I read on this post.
"The lack of communication is what bothers me. If you're busy, swamped, having difficulty shipping, lost the item, etc., no problem. But keep me informed every step of the way".
I can see this is a honest Buyer here.Hope you got your item.

I've heard this before, with Paypal it is seller beware. This was a story that shocked and angered me, and I don't even care about violins:

Truth

They (paypal) stole a couple hundred from me and i have never seen one penny back, nor the product in question. This was years ago and to the best of my knowledge the buyer kept the parts and got his money back in full. My legal council said it would be more expensive to go after them for it then to just let it die as they would/have/are masters at dragging suits out for years and years.

I have never gone near a paypal purchase since and there are many more like me out there

Yes, I have dealt with them, a decal purchase from ebay. They were very prompt. I received my decal before I got the shipping info from Ebay. Your mileage may vary but I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

I was told it would ship out again, this time with a delivery confirmation. It definitely should have been here by now. Communication has stopped again and no delivery confirmation number has been sent to me either. I have received two packages from other places which were sent out after this tank supposedly was, and which came from further away. I am going to give it a few more days, but September 4 will make it a month since payment. The thing is, he said it had been returned to him the first time due to not being signed for and I told him I'd take a refund minus the shipping . My spidey sense had started tingling because the post office will hold a package for weeks waiting for you to come sign for it.. He told me it was returned a second time, and I gave him the same option. I fear he is stalling to run out the 45 day paypal claim period. I really hope I'm wrong.

I sold something once and accepted paypal payment. I sent the item the next morning and came home to find that payment had been retracted. I was SOL.
