i want to run a 27 inch front wheel on my Camaro but I do not want to run the super skinny roadbike wheels.
does anyone know of one that is at least 1.90 for a cruiser?
I know there is a lot of new sizes appearing all the time so I am wondering if such a wheel exists or a size similar to this setup.
I considered a 29er front wheel but I don't think it will fit my stock forks and front fender.
thanks
sean

A 27" wheel is actually LARGER than a 700c/29er wheel by just a little. Skinny 700 road bike and 27x1-3/8" tires can use the same tubes. You see, the 27" diameter is based on the height of the mounted tire.

Basically, a 700-50C is going to be about the same size as your fictional 27x1-7/8" setup.

EDIT: Mt 700-28C front tire on my build-off bike is exactly the same outer diameter/height as my rear 26x2.125 Jerald slick. Side by side, the axles line up perfectly.

I have never seen any 27" tires except 1 1/4" or 1 3/8". While the 1 3/8" are usually noticeably wider and taller, they're still pretty skinny. There are 28"x1 3/4" tires for 700c rims that have about the same cross section as a 1.75" middleweight tire, and definitely smaller than 29ers.

The 27.5 on box store bikes might be your best bet, aluminum rim most likely. But spokes can be cut to any length, so you could swap hubs if you feel it necessary.

I considered the 27.5 wheel but I'm unsure about them because I see them on Walmart bikes a lot

They're on Walmart bikes a lot b/c they were a trend 5 or 6 years ago, so now Walmart thinks they're cool in 2016. Just like any of the other sizes discussed on this thread, the quality of the wheelsets vary from bottom-dollar jenky wheels with single-wall hoops and loose-as-a-goose spokes to high-end top-quality wheelstock. A lot of the time, all a WallyWorld wheel needs is for the spokes to be brought up to full and even tension. My main gripe with the 27.5 stuff is you're paying a premium for it in most cases. But it might solve your problem with wanting a 27"-diameter wheel/tire combo with 2"-wide rubber. Make sure your fork will clear it before you proceed, though...
