Was collecting parts for a BTR build and actually picked up a briggs and stratton but at the flea market today I ran across a 1 1/2 horse horizontal shaft military engine that just looks the part.

Pretty light weight, 25 pounds or so. Found a 230 page manual online for free that covers the engine. think I may be selling my Briggs and see if i can use this.

Block looks like it could be used as a stressed member.

Discuss.... : )

I did a hitch in the Marines but never saw one. We used a lot of motor driven pumps and generators so I have no reason to think that your motor in the pic isn't authentic. it would look awesome on a military styled bike.

I know I can buy Briggs and Stratton parts from about 15 places within 30 miles.

It's probably designed to run a single, low rpm. Like a water pump or small generator. Plan on doing a new carb at the very least.
