Just picked these up from the local scrapyard. Araya 700c rims laced to Sansin hubs, Quick change axles, both are dead straight which is rare at the scrap yard. Also I noticed it says sealed system on a sticker in the center of both hubs. Is that sealed bearings?
Are they anything special or valuable?
Anyone interested in them?

I did notice they had presta valve tubes in them so I don't know if you can put schrader vavle tubes in them or not, I have never messed with presta valves or road bike type stuff so I don't know.

The Bianchi I recently put together has the presta valves too, the adapter set me back 75 cents  I believe my rims would not fit a regular valve through the hole.

Cool, I did test fit them on my 24" Schwinn and they fit tight but look cool, I might end up using them but I thought I'd list them here first. Besides I have the original rims for the Schwinn. What are they worth?

i'm guessing you own a drill............ :D

I got a air pump at wal mart that will inflate both types of tubes. Under $25. I would not worry about changing the tubes, and BTW I've had both type of tubes in our 700C wheels, so I think you are good to go.

yeah I can get the adapter from my LBS for like $1 so I'm just gonna go that route. I just got a nice air compressor from the local pawn shop for $10 a few days ago so no need for a whole new compressor. If I end up using the rims I'll probably go with the presta valves just to make the bike look more expensive and give it a racing look. Then pop it off on C-list. Or I might just list the rimset.

I got one of those adapters for less than $1 and It's probably me, but I could not get it to line up or something. I'd give you mine, if I could find it.

One of the best bike tools I have is the hand air pump. I quit trying to use the AC to air up bike tires right after I blew up a 700C tube right in my ear because it was pinched and I was trying to get the dang air hose seated on the tube. Mine has a air gauge built in, so I just pump them up trusting the dial. Seems to work just fine. Gives me time to make sure that everything, tire and tube, are lined up and seated before much pressure gets in the tube. It has a deal that slides to fit either tube style, and a latch to grab the tube while you are pumping. I throw it in the car when we go on a ride, and air up the tires right before we go out. You may be surprised how much air pressure a bike tube looses, just sitting around a week between rides. I don't know why, but they do.

BTW: After I posted the other, I realized that our 700C rims are originally fitted with Schrader tubes, so maybe the prestas use a smaller rim hole, could be.

changes in temperature causes air to contract and expand. so tires go flat after a while, my compressor is a slow one so I don't have to worry too much and i go 10 psi then flip the switch off and make sure I got the tire seated and tube is straight then air it up more. It also has a gauge so I watch it and man the switch.
