Back 2 Basic (PG Streamliner)

This was not an expected frame to have, but I had the opportunity to buy this old school 2007 frame, which look familiar with the Elgin Bluebird.

I bought it to the Ruff CEO. It's an original PG Bikes Streamliner frame (not a Ruff Repop), built in 2007.

I want to build it with an old school style (fat balloon tires, springer fork) featuring a new school design (special fork, brake disc).

I found two never used rims on the internet :

not the expected red, so I changed my plan for the paint job...

after a long trip between Germany and many towns in France, the frame arrived at home. here is a view with my other bike. the chopper is 8 feet 2 inches tall...

The Streamliner frame is really big, but for short legs... the first job was to fit the crankset position...

next job : FORK !

It was interesting to combine a rotor brake system to a trussrodless springer fork !
that means we had to use strong steel pipes, so we went to a friend's home to use his bending machine

we started from this sample :

now we have the fork arms, it's time to create the drops out !

screw holes for the pivot, cutting some pipes and...

and this friday, we finalized the fork : making the adaption for the spring, adjusting the rake and real testing

now... the job is integration of a kickstand on this downtube

Some news ! Fork is done !

we welded a few hooks for the caliper pipe

and we joined the arms forever !

finally, the kickstand system, a small iron ball on a spring, to keep it open or closed did not work very well, complicated to develop...

so we made it simpler, but not less pretty

thanks ! integrated kickstands are always cooler !

the chain is a Shimano NX01 (actually 2 and a half... )

everything is working well ! no effect on the fork when I apply brake !

what a better idea to test a new bike than a long trip on it ?
Last week, I did 380 miles from Toulouse to Chateau d'Oléron (sorry guys, it's in France).

30 friends, 7 days, 2 night cruise and a lot of fun.

the bike works perfectly. now it's paintjob time !
