Get some hydrogen peroxide in clear liquid from a beauty supply store, 40 or 60. Put the grips in a clear container, submerge in the liquid set it outside for a full sunny day. That may bring the white back.

Next question. Can I use regular 3% peroxide from the drug store to whiten plastic? We don't have a salon close by. Also, has anyone had issues with peroxide damaging chrome?

And more decals. I went with the earlier style head tube decal as it has more white in it, which seems appropriate for a bike that has white accents.

I recently tried this. Regular hydrogen peroxide from drug store. Left it outside in the sun for a week. Nothing happened.

It's at this point in the build-off that I usually start to get stressed out about finishing in time. It's just my personality, I tend to be high stress anyways. My bike is done except for final assembly, it's still in pieces. I have today and tomorrow to finish this up and then I need to be working on other projects of mine that I actually should be working on, like finishing the suspension rebuild in my 4Runner so I can drive it to work again and get back to replacing the rotten joists in the (large) deck. What's got me pulling my hair out is that I've managed to misplace the seatpost. I kind of need that to clamp in the bike stand so I don't mess up the new paint on the frame. I've been through all of my boxes a few times. Hopefully it will turn up this morning and I can get this thing together.
