Hi guys.

Just as i told you in my Intro, i post here some photos of my Cruiser.
It's from a portuguese brand, Berg, and the model is the... Crosstown Beach Cruiser.

It´s a very simple Cruiser.
It's totally stock but... very soon i hope to install a Springer fork, a layback seat post, a 144 Spokes Wheels and whitewall tires.

I will be keeping you up with the project progress :)

Its not too much of a bike compared too others that are found on the forum but... its mine and i like it a lot.
Hope you like it too

Thank you Cruisehard

Yes... Berg Cycles is a portuguese brand that make very nice moutain bikes.
And they also have this Cruiser.

In fact... while the mountain bikes are built by Berg... this Cruiser brand is originaly Del Sol, model Shoreliner, but they are also sold by Berg Cycles brand name, model Crosstown Beach Cruiser.

Nice bike to start with....Already looks COOL!

For all of the other rat rod bikers, I just greeted João and said I was happy to have another portuguese guy around.
From now on, we'll keep our conversations in english.
Keep on rollin'

i like the curved fender braces, there cool 8) dont see those very often on the new bikes

I have an aluminum Del Sol that looks just like it. I found the quality of them to be very high. Their parts are a couple steps above most of the bikes around, including top name brand cruisers. Bike looks good.

Very nice looking bike, really like the frame! Looks great already and I think the springer fork and laid back seatpost will add to it even more. :)

Hi Stocksucks :)

Like you said... we keep it in english, so everybody will understand

I'm very pleased to see here another "neighbour" :D
I looked on your homemade bikes and... my god... they are brilliant.

Congratulations.

Hi Masterpoop63

Yes... normally they are straight.
This is one of several details that make this cruiser very cool for a out-of-the-box bike.

Hi Uncle Strech

Yes... like i said on the first post, this bike is originaly Del Sol and Berg got the permission to make some changes in the bike's general look and sell it.

I'm glad you like Galtbacken :)

Lets see if in the end of this month hi've already have the new parts.

Hi guys :)

Here's a little upgrade that i made this week on my cruiser.
It's the first one of a small list that i want to make on this bike.

Fat Frank tires, from Schwalbe :D

Here's a couple of pictures that i snaped yesterday, here in Lisbon, using the Tagus River as background

Those tires were a BIG improvement! Great bike. Btw your bridge looks a lot like our Golden Gate over here!

Thanks Slick :D

Like you said... it was a BIG improvement.
It looks much better.
The beige color of the tires combine real nice with bike's color.

Now follows up a spring fork and a layback seat post.
I also want to replace the V-Brakes by a coaster brake (i think its the correct name) because style and V-Brakes... doesn't match.

I don't know why but, unfortunately, Coaster Brakes are hard to find here in Europe and they are always associated to american bikes.
Here it's more usual V-Brakes and Disc Brakes.

The brigde... yes, it's very similar in shape and color to your beautiful Golden Gate because it was designed and projected by...... you guys :D

In fact, our Ponte 25 de Abril (25 of April Brigde), it was built by the same company (American Bridge Company) that constructed the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge
And all the steel used in the construction came from there :D

Hi there
The bike looks great, better now.
You can order the coaster brake from chainreactioncycles.com
That's the site I normally use and it works great.
Also you can go through some junk yards and try your luck. I got one once.
The thing is you'll have to re-spoke your rear wheel.
But that will be the big improvement as far as I'm concerned because:
Coaster brake = no cables = much better look
Abraço
Keep rollin'

Wow thanks Motorato! I never knew that? You do learn something new everyday! Ok I can't learn anything else now for the rest of the day or my head will probably explode. :D
