Best live concert...ever?

That's one coolwall of tickets B607 8) I used to collect mine too, untill about 15 years ago all differently coloured and shaped tickets were replaced by the same plane boring pre-ticket sale version...not much fun collecting many of the same, with just a diff name on it...

I went to see many many bands and played bass in a few as well, but mentionable highlights were:
1979 Judas Priest, 1980 Iron Maiden, 1985 Genesis, 1987 Pink Floyd, 1988 Frank Zappa and loads more in between and since then. Even Motörhead was an experience not to forget easily :mrgreen: biggest disappointment were the Stones, they are just not my cuppa tea...
Top of the bill for me is still Hawkwind, must have seen them at least 30 times over the years. Onwards flies the bird.

wow lastnight I saw a smaller national act out of Texas called "Fair to Midland"- it was possible the best show I have ever seen!
Darroh Sudderth the lead singer is crazy! he was hanging from the rafters upside down singing and jumped to the floor a good 15 ft it was crazy.
their music Has a progressive/art rock sound that reminds me of 70s music combined with newer metal.
If you get a chance to see these guys its a must see.

The Sonics, at the Paramount in Seattle last Halloween.

My friend and I had cheap seat tickets, about 3 rows from the top in the upper balcony, but it's the freaking Sonics so we were still stoked. After the first opening band my uncle calls me from his 2nd row from the stage floor seats and asks if my friend and I want two extra second row tickets his friend had left over, for free. Moved up to the second row and saw Girl Trouble and The Sonics up close and personal. It was awesome.

I too have been to many concerts, mostly 1977-1980, one of the bands that really stood out as a great live show was "The KINKS" anybody else remember them

2) The Clash, Starlight KCMO

Local favorites House of Large Sizes also NEVER dissapointed.

These are the ones that stick out in my mind right now. I used to drink alot you see. Many of the concerts are a little fuzzy.

One of my first concerts I saw was Heart/Eagles/Little river band at the Yale bowl in New Haven CT.I was only fourteen at the time and it was the largest out door concerts of that time.. boy was it good..I have seen everybody from Aerosmith to the late great Frank Zappa to the Dead. I did security at the coliseum for concerts and just walked around and enjoyed the Music..verry little trouble happend..I could talk for ever about my experience's but.. It was all fun times and to get paid even better it was all good :wink:

p.r.i.c.k. ,9" nails and david bowie put on a wicked cool concert.
p.r.i.c.k. opened up.(to me they sound simialr to nin with bowie singing)
when nin was on stage, they slowly started adding members of bowies band to the mix. at the climax of the show, all of nin and bowies band where on stage at the same time (3 drummers,trent and bowie singing etc etc)

it was a wicked show, but pails in comparison the the first palooza. (bodycount/ice t,rollins band,nin,living color,susie and the banshies and of course janes addition at the top of there game.

the 2nd 3rd and 4th paloosa's weren't bad either, but they didnt compare to the first
minsitry,tool, peppers,fish bone,chains all did a good job.
single concerts
....o for pyro's kicked butt, the nevermind tour rocked (nirvana) and the suicidal - you cant bring me down tour was insane!

probaly hit 500 concerts from 87-96 but these are the ones that stand out.

I've been to some pretty rocking shows, but the best one I can think of was The Flaming Lips at Bonnaroo in 2003. They started the show some time around 1:00am and played for quite a few hours. It felt like I was at a little kids birthday party. Really good vibes all around.

Black Crowes were pretty darn good, too.

North Mississippi Allstars rocked it when I saw them sharing a bill with Robert Randolph. Luther Dickinson plays a mean, dirty southern blues.

I only met him a handful of times, but I've heard stories. My brother was in Ringworm, Apt. 213 and the Darvocets. He's gotten away from it, though, to focus more on family.

the best live show i've seen was pantera at the michigan state fairgrounds in 1994. they just about tore the roof off the place. we fought our way through the pit to the front, where phil anselmo dumped a beer over my head. awesome.
