Best Tire for Schwinn Hollywood

I am new to the vintage bike scene but I just purchased a 1962 Schwinn Hollywood with everything original (except the seat). It needs tires to be road worthy. I have determined I need the 26 x 1 3/4 but what tubes should I use?

Make sure to buy S7 Schwinn Specific middleweight tires. Other 26" tires will not fit Schwinn Rims.

Yep, Schwinn had a plan to keep you coming back to the dealer for replacements. Only fault in the plan - the bikes are still around and Schwinn is long gone.

As said earlier, 26 x 1-3/4" tires are not equal to 26 x 1.75" tires. If the tires in your bike are original, they will have "SCHWINN TUBULAR S-7" stamped into the knurling. They require the 26 x 1-3/4" tires. This you said in your original post that you'd figured out.

To answer your original question, the same tube will however fit both tires. Tubes expand in all directions so they're a pretty universal fit.

RivNut is correct, 1.75" tubes will work with 1 3/4" Schwinn tires. Older S-2 rims can use decimal tires but as before they are not interchangeable with S-7 1 3/4" middleweights

Lately, tubes are being manufactured that will work with both middleweight and balloon tires. I just bought a few Goodyears through Amazon that state "1.75 - 2.125 inch tires."
