This is the key. Ive had chariots that hooked to the stay. I much prefer this.

DO you think that hookup has enough slop in it to allow a trailer, which won't be able to lean on turns? I have a wee ride to build up and am thinking I might have an issue with the hitch to solve..It is basically the same thing, but if you lean the bike any the trailer can't lean...so somehow there has to be a little roatation... I am hoping that just egging out some bolt holes in the swivel will be enough.

No. There is about 10 -15 degrees of slop between driver and trailer.

Thanks @ChimeraCycle. I guess I need to do some more engineering, or stick with a single wheel trailer. I've been looking online at trailer hitches and there are some pretty good ones out there...The best I have seen is also the simplest, basically a pintle hitch (ring and hook or post) but it will be noisy. I have seen the spring couplers and they just look like a fatigue crack about to happen to me.

There is a TON of info on google.. I couldn't immediately find the coupler that bolts to BOTH ends of the rear axle, it looks great but they still were using the side hitch for it which to me makes no sense loadwise.

Edit: Found it.. Had the wrong brand ..SURLY, not Burley..lol.

it comes with a fitting bag for luggage an is very easy and fast to dissasemble. If taken apart it takes less room than a standard suitcase.

That skinny tired road bike is too light to pull a trailer that size. Should be using a balloon tire heavy tanker with front drum brakes!

I went round and round over trailers, and finally decided to build the sidecar.
it fits on regular sidwalks 30' wide, flexes at the bike so it still steers and rides relatively normal, weighs 30lbs without the 50lb Bully co-pilot. And best is I can reach her from the drivers seat, she gets pets and re-assurance for staying calm in the passenger seat when she sees other dogs or bunnies.

I had a Walmart trailer for my daughter when she was little, pulled it with my dearly departed Electra Boney Finger. It did the job but wasn't "cool." Someday maybe I'll justify an Ikea trailer for my Electra Courier and of course the added expense of color matching everything haha
