I am brand new to this still and looking to see if there is a book that would be a good place to start with learning the different styles, makes, years, values, etc.

I have found a few bikes I am interested in buying but all seem to be the only one of that year and make for sale on the internet so hard to tell the values if what they are asking is fair.

Any help would be appreciated!

A good one is "Newsletter By John, An Introduction to Classic Bicycles". It has a lot of good info, and some values that generally reflect the higher values of severa years ago. It can be tough to find, I picked up mine on ebay, and the Cabe bookstore might have it. Also, there's "Evolution of the Bicycle, Vols. 1 & 2", which also have some good info, but many of the pics of privately owned bikes show wrong years and wrong parts. Also avail. on ebay. -Adam
