Are Western Flyer...and...Westfield bikes at all the same..I'm looking for a Western Flyer frame for a project. The Westfield owner does not know..for sure....Thanks..jv

Western Flyer is the brand name for the bikes sold by Western Auto stores. They contracted with most all of the major bicycle manufactures at some point, I have seen CWC, Huffy, Roadmaster, Murray, and even some British built bikes. I would not be surprised if Columbia/Westfield made any Western Flyers, but I cannot say for sure.

That's kind of what I thought. I have a tank from a WF Repop..so I need a WF..or identical..frame to use it..j

Some of the WF repops are based on the (westfield) Columbia bikes of the 40s and 50s. The only original ones I've seen are two mid-late 50s straight bar frames I probably paid too much for! They might be middleweights, can't really tell. Western Auto used almost everybody at one time or another, even Evans! -Adam
