The idea is neat but they seem to have overlooked one major flaw. The cable that runs inside the tubing could be easily cut. Then the thief can take off with both halves. The bike may no longer be ride-able, but they still make away with many potentially expensive parts. I think a hinged folding frame could do the same thing with less vulnerability.

I thought it was theft proof as there are no brakes on it.
could be a fixie with a one speed dérailleur  ...can you imagine if the frame cable mechanism came loose in the middle of a ride?!!!

But Fixie+Derailer=Chain Catastrophe.

I had one cruiser I used to just carry a 1/2 inch ratchet wrench with me and bring the bars in with me. RIDE THAT!

Thats a pretty good idea!

trust me, ive done every quick an easy trick i can think of to make a bike unrideable (sometimes grounding your kids is the only way to get there attention ), but if somebody wants to ride bad enough, they will!
