Bikes in Autumn

A typical autumn view for me with my bike.

It isn't usually against the wood stack, but we had a delivery of building materials.

Another ride that started off very chilly and slowly warmed to a nice mildly warm day. Don't know which angle I like more.

Woo hoo, finally got out for a fall ride. It was only 5°canadian (40° in freedom units) with a big pile of wind. See how I suffer for you guys? But I got the goods. Colors aren't as poppin' as they could be, the big wind pulled down a lot of the red and dead stuff.

Sugar maple, kinda like the fall color diva, gets all the hype,

To me, this is the fall trifecta: maple, sumac and wild grapes. Sumac actually shines brighter than the maple, but it's smaller, and the leaves stay for shorter time. Also, the fuzzy berry things can be brewed into a tea which tastes remarkably like lemonade

Really not catching the colors as they appear, that sumac is so orange, with the red berry clusters

While trying to get set for those shots, found a bonus:

Autumn bike full of yummy bits! Lol after this, riding became a little bit more difficult

Nice start to the week and the month of November.

A rail trail two-fer this week: 20.5 miles on our Elk River Trail on Monday, and 32 miles on the North Bend Trail Friday. Yesterday it was 26F, dark, and foggy when I started, but turned into a beautiful, sunny day that was still noticeably chilly by the time I got back to the car. The western end of the NB Trail passes a lot of wooded residential areas, and it's a popular trail, yet I had the trail to myself; no hikers or bikers to be seen all morning.
