Those threaded thingys would make some very cool bike parts…Brass and stainless make good company. Brass snare shell with stainless lugs and hoops.

Great tip! I might have to do the same thing....the fork has no threaded hole underneath. I dropped an Allen bolt with a washer down the steer tube, and after I mount the fender I’ll grind the bolt off flush with the nut, got just enough clearance View attachment 271011
