I've had this bike on the site before, but now I've finally bit the bullet and converted it to a single speed. I used a 7speed Shimano freehub wheelset and pieced together enough spacers and 15t cog to make it work. The blue spacer you see in the photos is actually a 1/2" wide section of steel cut from a non-working tire pump cylinder! Works pretty well and sure beats shelling out $25 for a "conversion kit". I just need to find a decent saddle, put on some Kenda K-Rad tires and get some blue Oury grips. As for the saddle, does anyone have feedback on the Neuvo Retro saddle offered by NYCBikes.com?
